A big part of preparing for your senior photo session is deciding what you want to wear. One of the
questions that might crop up during this time is how many outfits you should choose.
Before we answer this, keep in mind that if you have only booked a mini senior session, you will probably only
have time for one outfit, so choose carefully.
However, if your session is 2 – 3 hours or more, you have the option to plan more than one outfit. To avoid feeling overwhelmed, I highly recommend that you don’t select more than 5 outfits for your senior session. This will give you about 1 outfit per 30 minutes. If you really can’t narrow your outfits down to just 5 or less, let me know and we can go over your outfit choices together. I can easily tell you which outfits will produce the best photos based on your location as well as your vision for your shoot.
You should also keep these elements in mind when selecting your outfits – it will make the process a lot
easier.

Tips for Finding Inspiration:
Don’t be scared to think outside the box when picking your outfits. You don’t need to go out and buy
something new either. Look at what’s already in your closet or head to a local thrift store to find a
few unique pieces that won’t cost a fortune. In fact, you can even go through your parents’ or grandparents’ closets to find something truly one-of-a-kind (and sentimental).
Another idea is to draw inspiration from the books, movies, or music you love. Did you recently see an outfit in
a music video that you adore? Find a way to replicate it in a way that works for you.
If you still need some inspiration I’ve created a board on Pinterest to help! You can see it here: What to wear Senior Style
Lastly, don’t stray away from props – they don’t have to be “cringe”. Imagine having a 50s theme for your
senior session and using a milkshake as a prop? There are no rules about what your props should or
shouldn’t be.
When you book a senior session with me, I include a “What to wear” guide in your welcome packet! You also have access to the Senior Lounge which also has outfit tips too.
